How do we do it?

Contentious divorce

1. We check the documentation provided
2. Within fifteen days, we file the legal action
3. The duration of the procedure will depend on the other spouse and the workload of the family court
4. In the first instance, the legal proceedings may take about six months
5. The judgment is usually issued one month after the trial

Divorce by mutual consent

1. We analyse the documentation submitted by the client
2. The dynamics will depend on whether we represent one or both spouses
3. If we represent both of you, the claim and the agreement could be ready for filing in court within fifteen working days. It will be ratified one month later. If there are children, the report of the public prosecutor will be necessary
4. The judgement will be issued within two to four months after ratification
5. If we only represent one spouse, we will have a draft agreement within fifteen working days from the delivery of the documents
6. If we reach an agreement, we will have to ratify it in the court. If there is no agreement, we will have to go to court, a process that can take up to six months, depending on the workload of the court
